Facilities

Camelot Rest Home was developed to meet prevailing registration standards from the outset, and as extension and improvement work has been carried out, this has been designed and built to bring the standards of the home right up to date. 

This section explains the facilities that Camelot Rest Home has to offer service users.

Range of Facilities

Bedrooms

Camelot Rest Home currently provides 35 single and 2 double/companion bedrooms, situated the on both the ground and first floor levels 35 bedrooms have en–suite toilet and wash hand basin facilities, 2 bedrooms with wash hand basin facilities

Each bedroom is provided with a good quality bed, a wardrobe and set of drawers for storage, comfortable seating, a bedside cabinet, durable flooring, two double electric sockets, and a ceiling light, TV aerial set up.

Whilst every bedroom is very well equipped, we encourage our service users to bring with them all those special mementoes that they love and cherish. Rooms can be redecorated to individual tastes.

Lounges

We have a good provision of leisure space within the home. There is one very pleasant and comfortable small lounge and there is a newly built orangery that is spacious, with an extended lounge bright light.

Each are equipped with a variety of comfortable upholstered chairs, television and music facilities, reading books, and are decorated in keeping with the age and style of the house. Lighting is discrete and appropriate for our service users’ needs. All our service users are encouraged and enabled to use any of the facilities, as they wish.

Dining Rooms

Our dining room is conveniently situated in the area adjacent to the kitchen but a short stroll from either lounge. The furniture and equipment available is of good quality, and is provided with the safety and comfort of our service users in mind.

We also have various recreational activities available to ensure our service users are kept active and engaged throughout the day.

 

Toilets and Bathrooms

In total the home has 40 toilets for use by service users, of which 35 are situated within en-suite facilities in bedrooms. 4 are in bathrooms and 1 is a separate facility situated near to the lounge.

There are shower rooms on the ground floor and 2 bathroom/shower rooms one the first floor also. One of bathrooms On the first floor there is a bathroom equipped with an ‘Arjo‘ hoist.

Lifts

The home offers the choice of four lifts. There is a five-person lift that services one side of the building and a new installed passenger lift, also chairlift that services the both sides of the building. The lifts are regularly checked and maintained for safe use.

Laundry Facilities

We have a fully equipped laundry room, situated on the ground floor, which contains a sluice washing machine and a commercial standard dryer in the next room. This ensures that our service users receive an excellent and efficient service. All laundry costs are included in the fee. However, we do not operate a dry cleaning service but will make arrangements for dry cleaning to be undertaken for which the service user will be charged.

Telephone

We also have provided 2 cordless telephones to enable service users to receive telephone calls in the privacy of their own bedroom, if they so wish. Service users may have a telephone installed in their bedroom at their own cost if this is desired.

Garden

Our neat, well-maintained, secure and secluded garden contains contains trees, bushes, herbaceous boarders, and lawn. There is a paved patio areas, with seating for use in pleasant weather and a large lawn area with seating and a designated smoking area. We have vegetables growing in the summer and flowering tubs around seating areas throughout the summer

Car Park

We have very limited off-road parking spaces.

Ramps

We believe it is essential that we do all we can to aid the mobility of service users. All main entrance and exit doors provide level and easy access to and from the home.

Smoking

We do enable service users who wish to smoke to do so, but for the convenience and comfort of others only in the specific designated smoking area in the garden.
